The Project
The Al Bustan Street South construction project is one of the four parts that make up the Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor Infrastructure Project and features bridges totaling over 10 km in length.
The PERI system solution was tailored to take account of the specific circumstances on site, as one of the major challenges of the project was to carry out the construction works without causing major disruption to traffic.
The combination of the modular VARIOKIT and PD 8 systems proved to be the ideal approach for establishing the superstructure formwork for the concrete bridge on site. The PD 8 cutter, which was quickly and continuously adjusted to the different heights, ensured that the loads were transferred in an optimal way.
The prefabricated VARIOKIT exterior wall components and cantilever formwork for the concrete bridge superstructure were pre-assembled, lifted by crane to save time and then installed.
The versatility of the VARIOKIT and PERI UP Flex scaffolding system components means that they can be used in a huge range of applications. VARIOKIT and PERI UP Flex suspended scaffolding was used for the finishing work.
